The Immortal Empires mode will initially release in a ‘beta’ state, and will remain in that state until Creative Assembly feel it’s finished. Total War: Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires beta It’s highly likely these areas will get filled in eventually, but it’s possible they will be filled in with existing or last remaining 8e factions, as opposed to the nations the lands are named after. Creative Assembly has already stated that these factions are probably never coming to Warhammer 3, and in the blog post the studio reiterates its priorities, stating “Our focus for the Total War: WARHAMMER trilogy has always been on the races of Eighth Edition (with some exceptions), and the areas where these races reside remain our immediate design priority.” Interestingly, there are two landmasses which currently don’t have any territories in them, which in the wider Warhammer universe are where the Ind and Khuresh factions would be located. The map also shows where the new ‘Sea Lanes’ will be that will enable faster travel around certain parts of the map, especially the edges. It stretches from Lustria in the west, to the eastern edge of Cathay on the coast, and from the northern Chaos Wastes down through the Old World, the Badlands, and then to the southern Chaos Wastes.

Please note that in order to be given access to the big combined map – which will be released as a free Warhammer 3 DLC – you will need to own all three Total War: Warhammer games on the same storefront.
